Lost in Translation
After my trip to Dublin and London, I learned a few new things... but I'm still a dumb American.
To Let (rent/lease)
Yoke (if you don't know the thing you want, but you are asking someone for it)
Fanny (too naughty to say)
Fiver & Tener (5 and 10 dollars)
Bookmaker (for gambling)
Roundabout (I know what it is, but it is used everywhere there)
Solicitor (lawyer)
Have to use tube card to get out of the Underground
"Finding a pound in the Underground" - The Sundays
TV shows are a year behind, kind of going backwards (Back to the Future!)
